What are they referring to as Oracle's "export extension"?

    Cool

It may refer to the Oracle 10g DBMS_EXPORT_EXTENSION SQL Injection Vulnerability.

It looks like there's no reason for it to have EXECUTE granted to PUBLIC if only people who have the DBA role are running EXPORT or EXPORT Data Pump?

Why wouldn't Scott export his schema? And he is not a DBA.

I was talking about mine. But, then again, we don't have Scott here

Theoretically (at least I think so), users (especially developers) should be able to export their own data. As long as it is perfectly OK to perform backup on a higher level (including full database export, for example), I guess one shouldn't restrict Scott to export his schema.

If there are any legal issues here (Scott might steal some valuable info and sell them away) - I *supposed* this is a perfect world
