    Unanswered: SQL SERVER 2000 + AMD 3000 64bit BOX

I can't seem to get SQL Server to run on my 64 bit box running Windows XP Pro 64-bit. Is there a fix for this? I really need SQL Server.

Refer http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...uirements.mspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ing64_2ctv.asp, you can install Enterprise edition on server edition of operating systems only.

Why so, it is a basic rule that you cannot have server edition on a workstation based installation.

Otherwise use Developer Edition or Workgroup Edition, but you cannot use Developer edition for production purpose. At the least you can use SQL Server 2000 Personal Edition and SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) as per the links provided below.
