    Unanswered: TransferDatabase -> Paradox

    Okay,

    I'm in Access 2003 and am trying to export/create an Access table into an old version of Paradox (Paradox 3.x).

    All string values are being passed okay and the paths are valid to all folders etc. However, when I run this I get an invalid arguement and I can't figure out what I'm missing.

    strPdoxName = Left(strName, 8) + ".db"
    strFileName = "c:\Databases\TEST\" & strPdoxName

    DoCmd.TransferDatabase _
    Transfertype:=acExport, _
    Databasetype:="Paradox 3.x", _
    ObjectType:=acTable, _
    Source:=strName, _
    Destination:=strFileName, _
    Structureonly:=False

    Thanks.
    Chris

    I have not ever exported to Paradox, but I always suggest trying to create a macro to do it. The help for each field and the drop down boxes usually clear up any confusion about what fields you need or don't need.

    Then once you have a working macro, use those same fields and settings in your code and delete the macro.

    Resolution

    Here's what was wrong....

    strPdoxName = Left(strName, 8) + ".db"

    DoCmd.TransferDatabase _
    Transfertype:=acExport, _
    Databasetype:="Paradox 3.x", _
    DatabaseName:="S:\Archive_Data", _
    ObjectType:=acTable, _
    Source:=strName, _
    Destination:=strPdoxName, _
    Structureonly:=False
