    Unanswered: SQLLoader & Win32 namedpipe

    Hi All,

I have to read the data from the win32 named pipe using sql loader .

To achive that i am following the below give steps

    1. Created win 32 named pipe(\\.\pipe\MyPipe)
    2. Write the entire data into the named pipe
    3. Unload data from the named pipe and insert the data into DB using the SQLLoader

    SQLLoader command:

    “SQLLDR scott/tiger@orcl DIRECT =TRUE CONTROL=D:\ETI_WORKINGFOLDER\CustomerData.ctl DATA=\\.\pipe\MyPipe

As soon as we execute this command we hit up with the following error

    Error

SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (\\.\pipe\MyPipe.dat)

    SQL*Loader-554: error opening file

SQL*Loader-509: System error: The operation completed successfully.

SQL*Loader-2026: the load was aborted because SQL Loader cannot continue.

For your reference below given is the control file and data we are using for testing purpose.

    CustomerData.ctl

    LOAD DATA

    TRUNCATE INTO TABLE TEST

    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','

    (

    ENAME,

    DEST,

    CITY

    )

    Data

    Raj, Chennai, Bangalore

It will be great if someone give some input on this issue. Please give me the way to use the win32 named pipe with sqlloader.

    Thanks,
    Raj

Have you started pushing the data into the pipe before you started sqlldr? also, if the data is on the same machine why don't you have sqlldr load it directly?

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
