Unanswered: DB2 Backup problem into Samba filesystem

    Hi all,

I am currently trying to backup a db into a smbfs via the command:

    db2 backup db <mydb> to /mnt/smb_disk compress

but I have the following error:

SQL2025N An I/O error "4" occurred on media
    "/mnt/smb_disk/LNXE89.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.CATN0000.20060516182813 .0".

I have searched for I/O error "4" over the internet but I haven't found
any description of it so I remain without knowing what is it about and,
thus, what to do to correct it.

    Any help will be welcome.

Does the instance owner have authority to write to the filesystem ?

Can you post the db2diag.log entries at the time of error?

Yes, db2inst1 does have the privilege to write in the smbfs. I have tested it by creating files and directories and it can do it right.

I am enclosing db2diag.log for further information.
