Unanswered: Logs not getting archived -online backup?

    Hi everybody!!

We are using DB2 UDB v8.2 on AIX. We are running full online backups every night on one of our databases and using TSM. When I query the TSM using db2adutl query, I saw that the logs are not getting archived on TSM for one of the databases. Ideally whenever an Online Backup is trigered, logs should be archived automatically, though its working fine with other databases in that instance.

    Any thoughts?

Have a look at the INCLUDE LOGS Option in the backup command ... This option includes logs required for the successful restoration and rollforward of the online backup ...

For ROLLFORWARD to a later point of time, it is your responsibilty to archive log files and maintain it ... You can set LOGARCHMETH1 to TSM ..

What fixpak are you on ? IIRC, there was a fix to INCLUDE LOGS in FP9 ...

Thanks Sathyaram for such a quick reply

We have already set LOGARCHMETH1 to TSM. Thats the reason I am little concerned. I was wondering if I should use ARCHIVE LOGS command to archive logs manually, will that help?

I thought if we are running full online backups logs get archived automatically.

    We are using FP7

    Thanks again
