Angry Unanswered: udb on windows backup to a network drive

    Hi,
I am running udb ESE 8.1 FP 9a on Windows ?
Is it possible to take backup or do loads from a network drive ?

ie when I run this command
db2 backup db sample online to Y:\ with 2 buffers buffer 1024.

    it fails
SQL2036N The path for the file or device "Y:\" is not valid.

You need to use a fully qualified network path (like \\network\path), rather than just "backup to Y:\...". Hope this helps.

I change all the db2 services from using a SYSTEM account to a account with admin authority. This account should be an administrator and should have the advanced rights 'act as part of the operating system', 'create a token object' and 'replace a process token level'. "

    It still wasnt working.

After that I changed the path to fully qualified network path (like \\network\path), rather than just "backup to Y:\...".

and it worked like a charm....

    thanks for your help..
