    Unanswered: hyperlink in a subform

    my hyperlink text is stored in a linked sql table. i need to be able to display some text like 'Link to file' in the subreport field and when the user clicks the link have it open a PDF.

    *my subreport is more or less a detail datagrid for the parent form.

    i found a way around it...

    i added a command button to the subreport and then added this code.

    Letter_Link has the hyperlink path from the table.

    Code:
    Private Sub Letter_Link_Click()

        Dim sHyperPath As String
        Dim ctl As Control

        sHyperPath = Me.Letter_Link.Text

        Set ctl = Me.cmdLink
        With ctl
            .Visible = False
            .HyperlinkAddress = sHyperPath
            .Hyperlink.Follow
        End With

    End Sub

    really looks interesting,

    I'm using text data types for storing file paths.

    I would really appreciate it if you could discuss further on the details of how I may be able to use hyperlinks instead of file paths (I'm using text data types to store file paths)
