Unanswered: Runtime Error 2001: You canceled the previous operation

    Hey everyone,

This error message goes alongside the famous - syntaxerror message from the DOS days

ERROR 2001 is actually ignited by an incompatibility of data type.

I just came across this bit, when I tried to filter a form using

field = variable and I just forgot to maintain the similarity of data type between the two.

Perhaps the most peculiar thing here is that the runtime error message completely misleads me into thinking that there was a conflict with this operation, and the allowed operations in the form.

    syntaxerror

Not really ... More likely is that this error propagated somewhere downstream from the original error ... Access and VB are notorious for this. Sometimes I think that MS likes to get people to go on wild goose chases with the error msgs they return ...
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...
