    Unanswered: Report Count in Group

Okay, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have a database where I am tracking work orders that are either Active or Closed. I have a report which is grouping and sorting by Employee. In the Employee footer I need a control that counts the number of Closed orders only. Count Function doesn't let me give criteria. DCount returns all Closed and I can't make it return those that are equal to the Employee. Any help is appreciated.

What I would do is add a calculated field to your query. Call it Closed, or whatever is appropriate. In the query design add something like:

    StatusClosed:IIf([Closed],1,0)

I am assuming Closed is a Yes/No field in your table. If however it is called Active and is a Yes/No field then:

    StatusClosed:IIf([Active],0,1)

Then in your footer, use Sum to add up the ones. In a text box, set the ControlSource equal to:

    =Sum([StatusClosed])
