Unanswered: ignore errors in SqlServer 2000 (try/catch)

Is there any way to emulate the try/catch mechanism that SqlServer2005 provides using SqlServer2000?
    Or more simply,
Is there any kind of IGNORE_ERROR or CONTINUE_ON_ERROR setting for SqlServer 2000?

    Thanks

    - John

Asked this one myself a few months ago John. I imagined that there wasn't but thought I would ask anyway. Guess what?

True, but that doesn't mean that you can't get there from here...

You can easily launch a SQL Job from Transact-SQL. You can launch extended stored procedures (although they are more challenging to write). You can usually launch a server executable which can be written using anything that can run from the command line (no GUI allowed).

While there isn't an easy answer, there are still several answers available.
