    Question Unanswered: XLS file generation.

I am looking for any package that can be passed a select string (or cursor pointer) and will return an XLS file using a utl_file handle. I do not want to run excel via OLE or DDE as the software is running on a solaris 8 server. Hopefully someone has written a package that does this natively. I also need for the output to be an XLS file. I generated an SLK file and my boss didn't thing that it was not good enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

Thanks, nice idea. However, I am running 8.1.7 on this particular server and if they didn't like slk, they would go ballistic over XML. The business analyst says that the output file must be XLS and nothing else will be acceptable.
