Unhappy Unanswered: DB2 EIM warehouse(OLAP)business Objects

Users have been experiencing sporadic response times when executing the same query. Some users experience 5-10 sec response time. Others executing the same query going after the exact data will receive 10 min response time.
Testing was done when the system(P570-6 cpus,24gb real, shark dasd) was
almost idle. The same results occurred, some ran in secs the others in 5 - 10 mins. Being that the system was almost idle, it took the Server out of the picture. The query was examined prior to testing for optimum performance.
Front-end is a windows server. We have not seen a problem there. Does anyone have any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    George

    Arrow Backend

Try seeing what the backend process is doing

If its running use the command line to identiy it
using 'db2 list applications show detail'

Then specifiy the agentid in the 'get snapshot for application
agentid yourid' command - you will be able to se what the
process is doing and if its waiting for a lock
