You run a database backup at noon? A little strange, but is should not affect performance.

My guess is the performance issue is caused by a lot of employes surfing the web and streaming video over their lunch hour.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

are you sure there is no affected computer(by a spyware let's say) on the network which run only at noon? One affected computer can affect all the network and makes all its computers run slow when this affected one is running on.

fire up the profiler, performance monitor and the task manager. if you see nothing egregious, the problem is probably elsewhere.
“If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.

Is it just the application(s) pointing at the database that run slow or all apps or all apps that access the network?

Former then you need to look closer at your SQL Server (a la Sean).
Latter then it is probably a network issue (a la Blindman).
Um... middler then perhaps you have a scheduled anti virus scan on the clients or something (a la me).

Thanks for all. Actaully the user complained that they are slow run the access database in server and excel file in the server. But just a moment in the noon, then they said it works totally fine.

Lol. You are a hoot yyu. So it isn't about SQL Server at all? Didn't you once post in here about a printer problem too? Search seems to be down again so I can't be sure....
