    Unanswered: Hi friends, need info on migration

    Do anyone have info on where can i get information of migrating different versions of ase's of cross platform.

    What sort of information are you looking for?

    Have you tried to search Sybase's web site?

    info, like steps to be followed and the methods or ways of migrating ase objects to other os versions of ase.tried sybase site got some info like ddlgen and bcp utilities.

    If the target system is ASE 12.5.3 or later, and if you want to migrate an entire database then you can use plain DUMP DATABASE / LOAD DATABASE to migrate to a different OS.

    Otherwise you can use various ad-hoc tools. Personally I've used dbschema (see www.midsomer.org) which I contributed to write originally. It requires perl and sybperl, but is pretty powerful.

    Other options include ddlgen (to generate the source DDL of the objects you wish to move) and bcp in/out.

    Thanks for your suggestion ,actually i need to migrate ase12.5.3 on solaris to ase12.5.3 aix.As you said normal dump/load will do.if any errors or probs ,will try dbschema.pl
