Unanswered: Clone 9i Database to 10G

    Hi,

Has anyone here done a cloning if 9i database into 10G. Here 9i is installed on server a and has a database, which has to be cloned on server b where 10g is installed. The options I can think of are -

    1. Export 9i database and import into 10g database.
    2. Install 9i on server b and restore a backup of the database and upgrade the software to 10g.

Please let me know if there is any other way of doing this.

    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Both options are good.

    Thumbs up

    Also, export/import will self re-organize your tables/indexes/tablespaces.

The exp/imp would take care of the block sizes if the two databases are of different block sizes right?
