    Unanswered: Restore SQL2570N

Anyone know why I would get an SQL2570N error when trying to do a restore? Full error message:

    SQL2570N
A database cannot be restored on a platform that does not match the platform on which the backup image was created.

I'm backing up and restoring from the same machine (DB2 8.2 on WinXP). I've tried running the restore on a different machine and get the same error.

    Any ideas?

Do a db2ckbkp on the image and check if backup is valid

This is what I got on the db2ckbkp -h:
ERROR: Failed to verify media header. Cannot continue.

Is there a way to find out what is wrong with the backup? The backup didn't indicate any error messages. It just said it backed up successfully.

i think bkp image somehow got corrupted.
you have to make a fresh BKP and try restoreing it again.

Unfortunately i've already tried to make another backup. Same result. Could it be that DB2 is creating bad backups?

After doing some digging with a collegue, we found that the dbm release level was not the same as the db release level (0x0900 and 0x0a00 respectively). For some reason the db2 version installed was not proper.
