Unanswered: Importing Data from DB2 database bkup files to SQL Server

    Hi All,

I found out today that I am going to receive 3 DB2 Database backup files which I need to import into my SQL Server. My questions is that is it possible for me to import those backup files directly into the SQL server using DTS or do I need first need to restore it on a DB2 Instance?

If i first have to import it to a DB2 instance, any ideas if DB2 Express C will be able to do this ..the size of all these backup files should be arnd 7GB

Any other ideas how I can achieve this..

    Thanks in advance..

You will have to restore the files into DB2 before you can do anything with them. You should be able to restore them using Express-C, but it has to be on the same OS as the database that the backup images were made from. They also should be offline backups. If they are not, you will need the logs also so you can get a consistant DB out of the restore.
