I can successfully link to an Oracle table from MS Access. It uses a TNS file. I now want to link to the same table via VBA and a DNS-less mode since I want the MS Access DB to be used on several computers.

I have been to CarlProthman's WEB site, to 4GuysfromRolla, I have KB193332 from MS, etc., etc. etc.

My successful DNS connection uses the following:
[copied from my TNSNAME.ORA file]
SOXP, SOXP.GES.SYMANTEC.COM = (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=ustu-soxdbspdin02.ges.symantec.com)(PORT=1531))(CONNECT _DATA=(SID=SOXP)))

My VBA & connect string are:
sConnect = "ODBC;Driver={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle}; Host=ustu-soxdbspdin02.ges.symantec.com;" & _
"Port=1531; SID=SOXP;" & _
"UID=hyp_read; PWD=as needed"

DoCmd.TransferDatabase acLink, "ODBC Database", sConnect, _
acTable, "OPENPAGES_SX_ENTITY", "nuENTITY"

Where I have tried Server= instead of Host=. Also tried \\ in front of host name. Also {Oracle} instead of above.

Can anyone please help??
