Unanswered: reporting services and the IUSR_Account
On my development box, someone enabled and disabled and re-enabled anonymous access in IIS using the IUSR account after adding the IUSR account as a role in the application. Of course the IUSR account changes it's own password when you do this. This was a Total cludge in an attempt to get around an issue with the application accessing reporting services.
Now since all of the passwords used for authentication in the RS are encrypted keys and the password did not get updated in said keys, reporting services is totally broken. The app can not access the reports, and even though I am a local admin on the box and the builtin administrators account is an all-rights having role in RS I can not get into the report manager.
Any ideas except for reinstalling? which I think is where this is going.
REPORTING SERVICES IS THE DEVIL.
If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
