    Question Unanswered: Highavibility at DataGuard in 10g

    Hello All,
    i need an advice: i am using Oracle DataGuard for a highavibility- Application. For this Solution i create two database at diffent Servers. Because Data Guard Broker i got two SID-Names. Processes like Switchover runs fine. The different SID-Name are now my Problem:
    From The Client-Tns i can only logon to one Database. I have no chance to switch automaticly two another?
    HAs anybody an idea for realizing ?

    Cool

    The SID name is irrelevant to the client, what you need is to configure one name in the tnsname.ora file kindalike this:
    Code:
    mydb =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = vip1-orasrv1)(PORT = 1521))
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = vip2-orasrv2)(PORT = 1521))
        (LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = SHARED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = mydb.mydomain.com)
          (FAILOVER_MODE =
            (TYPE = SELECT)
            (METHOD = BASIC)
            (RETRIES = 180)
            (DELAY = 5)
          )
        )
      )
