Unanswered: Oracle 10G processes - newbie question

I want to shut down Oracle on a Linux (RedHat 4) server. I use:

    # /etc/init.d/dbora stop

However, even after several minutes - I see list of oracle processes (see below) which are remaining. Why are these processes still kicking around and is there a better way to stop Oracle?

    [root@oracle6 ~]# /etc/init.d/dbora stop

The database is down. The processes that you see are for the listener and enterprise manager agent, which do not get shutdown when the database is down. You were probably in the dbconsole when it tried to shut it down.
