    Unanswered: How can I scan barcode into Database field

    Please help me. I'm trying to scan barcode into Database field so I can search the table for that barcode record.

    The same way you would type it in...

    Generally barcode scanners send the same information your keyboard would. Your application design doesn't really change based on the input device.

    For some reason my barcode scaner is not sending the code into the field. I get the red light on afer I scan and it hang for long time. Do I need to specify the field font into code 39

    What kind of scanner is it? Serial? USB? If serial what port is it on? Keep in mind, some scanners trigger port events where you need to pull the data coming in off the port ...
    Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

    It's Serial scaner

    It's Serial scaner (IDTECH). DO you think it's not working becuase I'm using USB wireless keyboard? I had it working few months back but I had serial keyboard.

    Thanks to you all. It worked... It was not working becuase of the bardcode reader is in the serial port and the keyboard in USB port. now I have the keyboard and the reader in serial port
