Question Unanswered: Query from 2 DBs

    Hi there,

I have searched but haven't got the exact answer of how to query from 2 DBs.

    Select * from db1.schema1.table1, db2.schema2.table2 where...

    doesn't seem to work.

    I am using CLP.

I saw someone said Federated Databases, could anyone be kind enough to give me a brief idea what it is and how it works?

    Thanks a lot,
    Jinsezh

Federation is basically having 2 (or more) DB look like they are one. Applications only connect to one DB and can access the others through normal SQL. The tables in the other DBs are given "nicknames" and that is how the data is accessed. Look in the online reference at:
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce.../v8//index.jsp
and look in Administring and you will find the Federation documentation.
