    Question Unanswered: Form Controls

    I have a standard form to add records to a table.

    When I open the form, instead of showing the first record in the table, I want it to start with "adding a new record" ... I don't know enough about VBA to know which command or property I need to set for that.

    Can someone give me a few tips??

    If you only want to use the form to add records, you simply need to go to the Properties box for the form, select DATA, then set DATA ENTRY to YES.

    If you want to be able to view your records with the form, but want it to open in the "add record" mode, you need to go into the VBA (code) editor and enter this code:

    Private Sub Form_Load()
    DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec
    End Sub

    This will present a new record on opening, but then allow you to view all records using the navigation arrows.
    Hope this helps!

    The problem with making anything that fools are so darn ingenious!
