Unanswered: Using VBA to reset Netscape

I think I wrote about this problem before. I was given the assignment of writing code that sends a snapshot copy of a report through email.

The problem is we're locked into using Netscape mail.

I found a way around this. One of the Netscape Messenger Preferences is "Accept MAPI based applications" or something like that. When I check that block off then run the VBA code (which is a docmd.sendobject) it works.

Only thing is, the Netscape preferences are reset every morning when the user reboots. So I'd like to reset this Netscape preference within the VBA code before I run the before I run the docmd.sendobject code.

Does anyone know if it's possible to edit Netscape preferences using either VBA code or even a DOS batch file?

    TIA

I'm not sure if it's still available but NetScape use to have a Command Line paramter you could use (-i) to specify a custom .ini file to use upon launch. In the INI should be a spot to set this "Accept MAPI based applications" property.

If it does, when you launch NetScape from your application simply add:

    -i [custom_ini_file_name]

    to the command line.

    .
