Unanswered: Connecting multiple databases from Perl

    Hello everyone,

If my select statement involved selecting tuples from one single table, I usually do that using the data source name in the connect statement (i m using DBI) . But what if my select statement uses a join of two or more tables. then a single query will need to connect to multiple databases. how do i achieve this ?? Any help will be welcome.

    Thanks,
    Garric.

ps : I need to create a VIEW from my perl script which basically needs info from 2 or more tables.

A dsn is used in conjunction with a connection, which is not table specific. It is DATABASE specific.

Just use the appropriate SQL to join multiple tables as required. Ref http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.1/s...rial-join.html

Or, issua a command to the database (non record returning) to create a VIEW. ref http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.1/s...ial-views.html
