Unanswered: Registry Values by mapping to machine

I trying to read a registry value to see what programs are installed on the machine. I can get this code to work on my machine locally. But the issue is I'm trying to read this value on remote machines. To access these machines I have to map to them by using the ip (\\\c$). But the code works by using the localhost or computer name. I was just curious how I could access to the registry as a mapped drive?

I have tried to use the mapping syntax in my code and I get an error that the machine doesn't exist. ??

In the past I could access files by pointing to the map Letter and the path of the files. Is that possible and how would that look.

There are some remote registry API functions, but you have to have administrator rights on the target machine.
