    Unanswered: SQL 2005 Server Unattended Installation

    Hey guys -
    I am busy testing SQL 2005 Server Unattended installations and have a quick question. Microsoft specifies the following code for command line installation:

    Code:
    Start /wait <CD or DVD Drive>\servers\setup.exe /qb INSTANCENAME=<InstanceName> ADDLOCAL=All PIDKEY=<pidkey value with no "-"> SAPWD=<StrongPassword>

    SQLACCOUNT=<domain\user>
    SQLPASSWORD=<DomainUserPassword>
    AGTACCOUNT=<domain\user>
    AGTPASSWORD=<DomainUserPassword> SQLBROWSERACCOUNT=<domain\user>
    SQLBROWSERPASSWORD=<DomainUserPassword>
    Here is a link to the installation pages: Click Here
    My question is what are all the different accounts for?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Reghardt

    They are for specifying what NT user the different services related to sql server will run as. You can specify an NT account if you don't want to accept the default (which is LocalSystem)

    SQLACCOUNT - for sqlsevr.exe service
    AGTACCOUNT - for sql agent service
    SQLBROWSERACCOUNT - for sql browser service

    It's all explained here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...px#sqlaccount1
