    Use the Database Creation wizard (dbca) and get it to write to a sql script.

    From 10g documentation:

    "SYSAUX contains system-related tables (such as the statistics repository) that are not part of the core data dictionary".

    Hhmm.. seems complicated enough (that is, to create a database)
    Code:
    $
    $ su - oracle
    $
    $ ORACLE_SID=whatever;export ORACLE_SID
    $ sqlplus '/ as sysdba'

    SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production on Mon Sep 25 10:40:20 2006

    Connected to an idle instance.

    SQL> startup
    LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/initwhatever.ora'
    ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
    SQL> !echo db_name=whatever > /oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/initwhatever.ora
    SQL>
    SQL> startup nomount
    ORACLE instance started.

    Total System Global Area 142746596 bytes

    Variable Size              91770880 bytes
    Database Buffers           50331648 bytes
    Redo Buffers                 540672 bytes

    SQL>
    SQL> create database whatever;

    Database created.

    SQL> select name, open_mode from v$database;

    NAME      OPEN_MODE
    --------- ----------
    WHATEVER  READ WRITE

    SQL> select member from v$logfile;

    MEMBER
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/log1whatever.dbf
    /oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/log2whatever.dbf

    SQL> select name from v$datafile;

    NAME
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/dbs1whatever.dbf

    SQL> select name from v$controlfile;

    NAME
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /oracle/app_ora/oracle/product/8.1.7/dbs/cntrlwhatever.dbf
    Of course, one of the trades off is that it will default everything (file locations, and so on).
