Question Unanswered: Relational Algebra and Domain Calculus in Oracle

    Hi,

I was told that Oracle supports Object-Oriented relations and sub-relations and that i could query them with Extended Relational Algebra, Tuple Calculus, and Domain Calculus. I am an Oracle newbie, and I can't find anywhere on the web for how to execute a query in those languages in Oracle.

    Please help!

    Thanks.

The only query language Oracle speaks is (its own dialect of) SQL. This includes some OO extensions, for those who like that kind of thing.

    hmm

    hey,

Thanks for the reply. I was a bit skeptical about oracle understanding the Extended Relational Algebra, Tuple Calculus, and Domain Calculus languages, but what you said clears up the issue. Do you know any other database management system/software that supports those languages?

    Thanks.

No I don't, but you could try the "TTM-Related Projects" link at The Third Manifesto.
