    Purpose of the Sr. Database Administrator in Microsoft SQL Server is to have a skilled and dedicated resource to implement and maintain physical data models as well as design and test the database archiving, disaster recovery approaches and carry out database performance tuning, and creating the operational and maintenance instrumentation, process and procedures for the company’s Audit Program.

    •Implement & Maintain Physical Data Model
    •Database Tuning and indexing
    •Capacity Planning
    •Lead stored procedure code reviews
    •Implement and Monitor Security
    •Develop operational Procedures
    •Enforce database Standards and Procedures
    •Design disaster recovery, policy, procedures, and testing are implemented
    •Develop & Test Archive processes
    •Develop & Test Backup and retrieval process and procedures
    •Provide technical support for systems, data center operations to support ongoing DM operations and applications
    •Supports non-functional testing – review test cases, monitor, analyze, implement changes
    •Monitor DB performance metrics
    •Monitor utilization of data by application
    •Develop Standard Operational Procedures
    •Support Production Deployment
    •Create Production Support Plan and Procedures
    •Perform DB operations and maintenance
    •Perform DB software installations, configuration and upgrades
    •Provide technical support to production environments
    •Develop or install and configuration, monitoring and DB utility and management tools

    ·Five or more years of database administration operations experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
    ·Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and new features of SQL 2005
    ·Previous experience in Clustering, Log shipping, and High-Availability.
    ·Expert knowledge of Transact SQL
    ·Expert in strategies and approaches for physical database design, performance optimization, clustering and database replication
    ·Ability to perform code and design reviews
    ·Promote/migrate SQL-Server objects from development to production instances
    ·Knowledge related to computer hardware including networks and storage devices (SANS)
    ·Solid understanding of Windows environment, RAID Levels
    ·Understanding of the options available to support High Availability within the MS Technology
    ·Demonstrated experience in large custom software development projects.
    ·Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
    ·Knowledge and understanding of disk capacity planning and monitoring.
    ·Performance Tuning – Monitor efficient use of memory and CPU resources
    ·System Monitoring - Monitoring alert logs, dump files and other logs for errors. Identify performance bottlenecks due to waits and suggestions as to how to address them.
    ·Data migration and integration experience.
    ·Work with technical services team in creating supportable development, test, and production environments for application databases.
    ·Create support documents to assist in defining application database environments and their maintenance and operations
    ·Ability to take leadership of issues and drive them to closure.
    ·Previous project experience in the .NET platform and services oriented architecture
    ·BSCS or MS Degree or concentration in a technical field
