Question Unanswered: "Unable to read in login record"

    Hi All,

We've recently had the following message be written to our Sybase error log.

"Unable to read in login record"

Does anybody know what causes it and/or how it can be resolved?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jane

    hi,

check if you have configured the parameter log audit logon failure to
0 otherwise set it to 0.

    commands:

    sp_configure "audit logon f%"

    sp_configure "audit logon failure",0

    rgds

    Thanks for replying n3rd

Unfortunately audit logon failure is already set to "0"

Parameter Name Default Memory Used Config Value Run Value Unit Type
    ------------------------------ ----------- ----------- ------------ ----------- -------------------- ----------
log audit logon failure 0 0 0 0 switch dynamic

Do you, by any chance, know of anything other solutions? Or why it's been caused.

We've seen the error another few times since I posted my query.

    Thanks for your help,
    Jane

Is your master database in single user mode?
    i.e. no other login allowed.
