    Unanswered: stdevp in a textbox

Is it possible (and if so, how) to use the StDevP(expr) function in a textbox on an Access form. I have a database with a numeric field [nrate] and have attempted in the controlsource: =stdevp(referrals.nrate), where refferals is the database name and nrate is the numeric field I wish to use to obtain the standard deviation for the entire population (so let's not get sidetracked on stdev/stdevp).

    I have attempted:

    =stdevp(select referrals.nrate from referrals where nrate >0)

    also to no avail.

    Assistance would be appreciated.

I'd rather not use a number of individual boxes and build the formula from the associated sums and square root etc

    Hi

    Have you tried

    =DStDevP("nrate","referrals", "nrate > 0")
    in the texbox control source
    ??

many thanks. I thought I had tried the various combinations thereof, in much the same way as your reply to another of my posts (for which I ame grateful). This appears to have worked, and as in the other case I will now do so with the various criteria.

    once again many thanks

    yes it does work
