    Can somebody please suggest me how should I read a .db file in java?

    It should be read left to right & top to bottom.

    Want to read .db file and store it into a byte array.

    if by .db file you mean an Oracle datafile dont bother, its a proprietry format which may change with different versions of Oracle. If you want to read data in try using a select statement.
