    Question Unanswered: Added date field, now date is showing on all records..

    Hello Everyone,

    I'm sure this is a simple thing, but I've added a field, (when "new record" is clicked, a text field displays the current date). My problem is that the date is showing on all my records, not just the 1 ive added.

    How do I have it just for that record, not show on all records?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    My guess is you're talking about a continuous form, and you haven't bound the date textbox to a field in a table, which will give you the behavior you're reporting.
    Hope this helps!

    You need to post the code that places the current date in the text box, including the sub it appears in. I'm assuming you mean to have the date show whenever a new record iss added to the db, is that right?
    Hope this helps!

    Etiquette here, and at other forums of this ilk, requires that the poster document the answer to the problem so that others may learn\avoid doing the same things!

    Glad you got it solved!
    Hope this helps!

    I apoligize.. My mistake, I blame it on lack of coffee this morning

    On my command button for "NEW RECORD" (using the wizard, choose new command button, and use add new record)

    Ive added the Create_Date field (and text box field to form) to my table and added this line to my code:

    Me.Create_Date = Date$

    On clicking the command "NEW RECORD", this will show todays (in the format of 10/15/2006) date in the Create Date field.

    Thanks Missinglinq for your help..
    Chris
