Unanswered: Data Load from Informix to Oracle Porblem

    Hi,
I need to load millions of data from Informix 7.3 to Oracle9i.
I was thinking of using Sql loader to load the data so the data from
informix should come in as a flat file .
For eg a CSV file now the flat file has a restriction on its size when
the data is huge i doubt if its going to truncate the data which means
i don't get the entire data on a CSV file..

Please advice me on this .

SQL*Loader does not have a restriction on the size of the imported file (at least none that I'm aware of). Size limits of underlying file system do apply of course.

I meant that OS will have restriction on the file size so is there suggestion for that.

The machine i am talking about has Windows XP professional version 2002 with service pack 2.

Break the data into multiple CSV files and import them one at a time.

    Thank

Thank u all for the replies .

One last question I don't know if I am wrong

Say if I have t1 table and t2 table exported and converted to csv file for eg t1.csv and t2.csv.

Now if I create an external table say ext_tab with two csv files its possible
but the data should be similar and will be appended for eg
    T1
    ENG,England,English
    SCO,Scotland,English
    IRE,Ireland,English
    WAL,Wales,Welsh

    T2
    FRA,France,Frencha
    GER,Germany,German
    USA,Unites States of America,English

    then External table
Ext_table will contain 7 rows in that table like

    Ext_table:

    Col1 Col2 Col3
    ENG England English
    SCO Scotland English
    IRE Ireland English
    WAL Wales Welsh
    FRA France, Frencha
    GER Germany German
USA Unites States of America English

But if i wanna make create external table such that data for
col1,col2,col3 should come from t1 and col4,col5,col6 should come from t2.
Is it possible to make oracle understand that .

    I don't know if i asked a foolish question..

    Thanks as always.
