    Unanswered: Calculation Sybase DB Availability

I'm not a DB guy but am in the process of developing a System Health type application for my company. I'd like to be able to report on the availability of our Sybase databases but am struggling to figure out how to develop that metric. Any suggestions out there? We are currently using MOM (microsoft operations manager) to monitor our servers. Is there a way to automatically log this information to a table from Sybase or will I have to monitor when particular services go up and down?

    Thanks in advance

You could simply calculate the difference between getdate() and @@boottime.

Keep updating the record in a table in the database until @@boottime value changes. If it chnages insert a new record.
