    Unanswered: How to invoke the Cryatal Parameter Dialog on the web?

    Hi,

    I pass 2 parameters from ASP to CR 8.5 However there are 2 more parameters that should be taken by Crystal to view the reports.

    When I select this report, the 2 ASP parameters are being passed, the report opens up with no data and no parameter dialog box of Crystal pops up.

    How can I invoke this parameter box of Crystal.

    Thanks.

    Are you using stored proc?check for any parameter dialog box suppress code in your application code....

    I am not using any stored procedure within my ASP code. This report just uses a simple SQL query with inner joins. After you mentioned about the application code, I realized something....thanks for pointing me in that direction. My code is ASP looks like this:

    '------------------------------------------------------------------
    ' Working with SetLogOnInfo for the Main Report
    '------------------------------------------------------------------
    ' The datasource here is called "DSNName". It is a System
    ' Datasource, and points to the "DBName" database, which is installed
    ' with SQL Server.

    Code:
    dsnName = "DSNName"
    DBName = "DBName"
    userid = "username"
    password = "password"

    session("oRpt").MorePrintEngineErrorMessages = False
    session("oRpt").EnableParameterPrompting = False

    ' Set the location
    set crtable = session("oRpt").Database.Tables.Item(1)
    crtable.SetLogonInfo "DSNName", "DBName", cstr(userid), cstr(password)
    I changed the following line:

    Code:
    session("oRpt").EnableParameterPrompting = False
    to

    Code:
    session("oRpt").EnableParameterPrompting = True
    But the report takes too long and still not showing up...I do not know whether it will show up or not.

    Any ideas how to improve on the time ?

    And also whether this change in the line is going to help me.

    Thanks.

    Check your query statement in Query Analyser by passing the parameters.
