Unanswered: i need help on an assignment

if u have time to help. please help!
    Heres the query problem:

Find the increases to employee salaries assuming the following schedule of increases:
    a. Employee should get a 5% increase on the first $25,000 of their salary. If they earn less than $25,000 they get 7%.
    b. An extra 2% of the salary is paid to any employee earning more than 25,000 but less then $80,000.
    c. Those earning $80,000 or more should get an extra 9% of their earning that is in excess of $80,000. This is in addition of what is allowed as of (a) and (b)

I need to find the new salary field from the employee salary field [empsalary].
yes, questions a,b, and c are all sumed in one field.

not sure how to make the IIF statement for this

    need help with IIF

    Think this might work...
    IIf([sal]<25000,([sal]*0.07),IIf([sal]<80000,(25000*0.05)+(([sal]-25000)*0.02),(25000*0.05)+(65000*0.02)+(([sal]-80000)*0.09)))

    sal is fieldname of salary

The above is not very flexible...it could be made more flexiblle by adding fields for the bracket amounts and referring to them in the IIF

Sorry if it's not quite right
