Unanswered: You can't assign a value to this object

    Hi!
I am still a bit new to Access. I am using Access
    2000.

I have a 'request form' in my database where the user searches for information and if it is found there are two subform to be filled out on that same 'request form'. The first subform allows the user to enter the record number of the record, the date etc. and the second subform is to allow the user to enter the request information like name, contact number etc.

I am able to enter information in the first subform but when I try to enter information in the second which is the name of the requester etc that is when I get this error message:

You can't assign a value to this object
    - The object may be a control on a read-only form
    - The object may be a on a form that is open in Design view
    - The value may be too large for this field

None of those apply, at least not that I could find. But when I click Ok I am able to continue filling out the fields in the second subform.

What is happening I really don't understand.

    Help me Please.

you could check the on-click event, maybe you accidently coded it to set a value in a box and then deleted it, etc...
