    Unanswered: roles

    is CREATE OR REPLACE ROLE valid syntax?
    Its a question that appeared on a practice exam for Oracle Cert.
    i tried it under system:
    SQL> create role testme;

    Role created.

    SQL> create or replace role testme;
    create or replace role testme
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
    I cant find anywhere that verifies what REPLACE does.

    Any suggestions?

    This is CREATE ROLE syntax. It doesn't accept REPLACE keyword.

    What replace does? Nothing much - it is just a help for developers, DBAs, whoever so that you wouldn't first have to DROP an object and then CREATE it. REPLACE does it both - drops and creates at once.
