Unanswered: How do I remove some results from a query?

I have a query that joins two tables. Table A will have one row per person, table B will have multiple rows associated to that person.

    So, my query produces

    Bob Son
    Bob Daughter
    Bob Spouse
    Jen Son
    Tim Son
    Tim Spouse

What I would like is my query to produce this :

    Code:
    Bob Son
        Daughter
        Spouse
    Jen Son
    Tim Son
        Spouse
    Is this possible?

use your same query but before running it type:

    break on 1stColumn_Name
    - The_Duck
you can lead someone to something but they will never learn anything ...

    more info

I should add that I am not running this query through TOAD or any other kind of application. I am using ColdFusion, so I don't think I can add "break on" in the SQL statement.
