    Unanswered: RMAN error

    I got the following error last night in my RMAN backups:

    Any ideas on how to fix?

    Did you started the database through RMAN? According to metalink, this can cause a problem. Also, a mixed up char set on the database as well.

    Thanks for the metalink note. I stopped and started the OEM database (since that holds the recovery catalog). Seems to be OK now. Another solution I found was not to use the recovery catalog.
