    Unanswered: space quota exceeded for tablespace 'string'

    I am not able to create any table on a schema "user1" getting message as
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ;
    ORA-01536: space quota exceeded for tablespace 'XYZ' ;

    but tablespace 'XYZ' is having free space and the schema "user1" is having 'UNLIMITED TABLESPACE' privileges;

    Another schema "user2" also in tablespace 'XYZ' is allowing the same create table operation ;

    then in order to make some free space on schema "user1" , when trying to drop some table using
    drop table "tablename" ;
    it is again giving the same error ie ;
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ;
    ORA-01536: space quota exceeded for tablespace 'XYZ' ;
    not even able to do truncate . but able to do delete operation.

    how to overcome this problem , any solutions . thanks in advance

    Do the following as a dba user

    SELECT PRIVILEGE FROM SYS.DBA_SYS_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE='USER1';

    This will determine if user1 really has the UNLIMITED TABLESPACE priv.

    SELECT TABLESPACE_NAME,BYTES,MAX_BYTES,BLOCKS,MAX_BLOCKS
    FROM SYS.DBA_TS_QUOTAS
    WHERE USERNAME='USER1' ;

    This query will show any directly granted quota on a particular tablespace for user1.

    You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
