Unanswered: Exception : Critical Patch Update Oct 2006

    Hi Experts,

After applying the patch CPUOct2006 - 5490841, the patch was successfully applied. The database and the listener started successfully.

When starting the apache server the following error was thrown :

    apachectl: /softwares/Oracle92/OraHome1/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd: Execute permission denied.
apachectl start: httpd could not be started

    Pl. advice ...

    Thanks in advance

what are the permissions on that Apache folder and the apachectl?

also, did you run the script on the database after you ran the CPU patch on the server?

    ie: the post installation instructions
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/cpu/CPUJul2006
    sqlplus /nolog
    SQL> CONNECT /AS SYSDBA
    SQL> STARTUP
    SQL> @catcpu.sql
    SQL> QUIT

you can lead someone to something but they will never learn anything ...

    Sathidevi,

If you are running Apache using ports under 1024 on *nix platforms you have to have the ownership and permissions should be set properly. As root, I think you have to run the following:

    Code:
    chown root httpd
    chmod 6750 httpd
Give it a try... might help.

Exception : Critical Patch Update Oct 2006

    Hi,

Executed the same as root by changing the owner and the permissions, still the same problem persists.

May I get the solution immediately.

    Thanks in advance
