Lightbulb Unanswered: Link Table Issue In Ms Access

    Holla people!

I have an issue when I try to link a table (from SQL SERVER to MS ACCESS).
I think I know why it fails, but I don't know how to fix it.

The table I try to link is called "Transaction" in SQL SERVER,
as far as I know Transaction is a reserved word in SQL and ACCESS.

When I link my table there's no error message, but when I try to open the table, it tells me this:

    ODBC--call failed
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorect Syntax near the keyword 'Transaction'. (#156)

BTW: I can not change the table's name because it's a table used by Microsoft RMS HQ

    Cans someone helps me please!?

    problem solved....

    I fixed it this way:
    1. create a view on the table
    2. link the view instead of the table

You could also possibly change the table name after you link it.
    Expert Database Programming
MSAccess since 1.0, SQL Server since 6.5, Visual Basic (5.0, 6.0)

no because it's on the SQL SERVER side that the table use a reserved word ... and this name is used to make the connection, renaming the linked table in access will give me the same result (I tried that already). so my solution is to make a view as I said....

    peace
