Unanswered: SQL5030C error while modifying instance config

    DB2 8.2.6 and windows

We had db2 7.2.5 instance set up as a clustered instance (Windows cluster with hot standby).

This was converted to DB2 8.2.

The migration did not report any errors. all databases on the instance are looking good.

But when we try to modify the instance level configuration we get the following error

SSQL5030C The release number is not valid. SQLSTATE=58031

The release number in the database manager configuration file or
database configuration file is not valid.

    The command cannot be processed.

    User Response:

Verify that the release levels of your database and DB2 match.

If installing the sample database, drop it and install the
    sample database again.

    sqlcode : -5030

    sqlstate : 58031

Tried using the command in db2cmd still get the same error

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the suggestion.

But I did try db2imgr <instance name>. After this the error disappeared!!!

It is strange because the manual says it is required only on Unxi systems. But I was it desperate and tried it and looks OK after this treatement.

    thanks again
