Unanswered: does select with ur threatens inserts?

I have a table with more than 20 million records in db2 udb v8.
Data is inserted to this table, and sometimes select statement for old records is run on the table with ur.

what i m asking is that, does the selects with 'with ur' may block/slow down inserts on table? ( as the number of rows is huge on the table)?

    tnx in advance

A select WITH UR will not lock any rows or tables (not even a share lock), and it will ignore other locks from other applications. WITH UR has no affect on an insert, update, or delete.

You may also want to consider the DB2_SKIPINSERTED registry variable.

"SELECT ... WITH UR" will not block any inserts (nor updates or deletes).
On the other hand, it will possibly read some of the inserted lines (even uncommitted ones) while it will not read some other ones.
