    Unanswered: Deploying changes to database

I've been working on my first PHP/MySQL application and have people testing it right now. Changing the PHP pages is easy enough but what would be the best route to make changes to the database? I have new tables to add and new fields to add to existing tables. I don't want to do anything that will delete or overwrite their existing data. Any suggestions on how to approach this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Write a migration script in PHP to migrate from database structure 1 to database structure 2.
    MySQL 5.1

'Alter table' statements will only affect the structure of your table. By adding columns, you keep the data present in the table. So that's probably what you're looking for.
